Carol Borskey is a part-time professional development specialist in DECA’s Education Department, where she assists in providing professional development programs to chapter and chartered association advisors. Carol assumes the lead in Train the Trainer follow-up, assists with providing professional development activities and related communications follow-up.
Carol retired from the Louisiana Department of Education after serving as director for marketing education and Louisiana DECA state advisor for more than 25 years. Working with business professionals and state legislators, she was a key player in securing $1 million for Louisiana marketing education and DECA through the implementation of economic development programs that are still in place today. After retirement, Carol worked with low performing schools by developing rigorous activities to motivate students and enhance learning opportunities.
Carol served on the DECA Inc. Board of Directors for six years and served as its president for one. She was also president of the ACTE Marketing Division for three years. Carol collaborated with DECA on the production of several important projects, including the Competitive Event How-To Video Series. She received the DECA Honorary Life Membership Award in 2004.
Carol earned her master’s and specialist degrees in career education and an undergraduate degree in marketing and marketing/business education from Louisiana State University.
