DECA/FIDM Runway Challenge

For the past four years, FIDM has sponsored a trend challenge through which teams of DECA students translate sea­sonal fashion trends into a “look” depicting the researched fashion forecast. Winning teams are recognized on stage at DECA’s International Career Development Con­ference. FIDM awards the overall winning team with a travel stipend to attend DECA’s International Career Development Conference.

DECA/FIDM Scholarship

DECA students are eligible to receive a $1,000 scholarship to attend FIDM. Students who are DECA State Officers at the time of their acceptance to FIDM are eligible to receive an additional $1,500 scholarship. DECA students who are First Place winners in state competitions in the Apparel and Accessories Marketing and Fashion Merchandising Promotion Plan categories are eligible to receive an additional $3,000. Renewable for up to 4 years with 3.0 GPA at FIDM and consecutive attendance.

Fashion Executive of Tomorrow National Scholarship Competition

Open to all high school seniors, graduates, and college transfer students, FIDM’s National Scholarship Competition awards creative thinkers who demonstrate the potential to be creative leaders with full one-year scholarships in seven categories including Fashion Executive of Tomorrow. ICDC Competition: Fashion Merchandising Promotion Plan

FIDM challenges DECA students to develop and present a seasonal sales promotion plan at the International Career Development Conference every year. Winners are selected and honored during the conference closing ceremonies.

FIDM Community & Educational Affairs Department

In our commitment to education and giving back to the community, FIDM created the Community & Educational Affairs Department in 1970 to serve high school educators, administrators, counselors, and students. The mission of the Community & Educational Affairs Department is to provide quality information and educational enhancements for high school educators and their students related to the majors FIDM teaches. All classroom resources have been developed specifically for a high school classroom using FIDM’s specialized expertise. All resources meet state and national educational standards.
