DECA’s SUMMER OFFICER LEADERSHIP TRAINING
2008 TENTATIVE AGENDA

Check in for Summer Officer Leadership Training will be at New Hall on the campus of George Washington University between 3:00–8:00 pm on day of arrival. New Hall is at 2350 H Street, NW – right at the corner of 23rd and H. Only the advisors need to go to New Hall, where they will register their entire group and will get the dorm assignment.

The meeting space will be at the Elliott School, 1957 E Street, NW, Room 213. This is at the corner of 20th and E Streets, NW.

Housing will be in one of two dormitories:

• Lafayette Residence Hall (2100 Eye Street, NW) – to get to the meeting space from here, go down 21st Street, then make left on E Street.
• Potomac House (2021 F Street, NW) – to get to meeting space from here, go left on F Street, turn right onto 20th Street and then left on E Street.

THURSDAY, JULY 10
Arrival by 7:00 p.m.
8:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. – Orientation and Evening Social

FRIDAY, JULY 11
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. – Meet with Leadership Trainers

Topics include:
	Team Development
	Being a Good Customer
	Organizing and Planning
	Program of Work
	The Art of Appreciation

7 p.m. – 11 p.m. – Evening Activity

SATURDAY, JULY 12
8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. – Meet with Leadership trainers and DECA Inc. Staff

Topics include:
	"Breaking the Ice" and Working a Crowd
	DECA’s Roadmap to a Successful Year
	Membership Retention and Growth Techniques
	Marketing and Promoting DECA Programs

7 p.m. – Evening Activity

SUNDAY, JULY 13
9:00 a.m. – Closing Session with Trainers
