Collegiate DECA is a student driven organization that values competence, innovation, integrity, and teamwork. We prepare students for careers by integrating skills learned in the classroom into real world experiences. Collegiate DECA programs assist in developing academically prepared, community oriented, professionally responsible, experienced leaders. Our students major in a variety of academic programs with a strong focus on business-related fields. Collegiate DECA conferences and other activities give students unique access to internships, scholarships, competition, and professional networking.
While chapters are typically formed around academic program areas such as marketing, finance, hospitality, management and entrepreneurship, some schools have more than one chapter on their campus focused around different majors and involving multiple faculty, and some school systems with multiple campuses will establish a chapter at each campus. Each chapter has one or more faculty, administrators or staff serving in roles such as advisor or competition team coach, connecting DECA activities to the curriculum. In turn, multiple chapters may come together under the umbrella of a Chartered Association to provide additional membership benefits. Membership development is an important goal for every chapter of Collegiate DECA. Each new member offers valuable skills and contacts, and membership is open to students at any stage in their academic career. The greater the membership, the more you will accomplish on your campus and in your community. Campus posters, brochures, presentations and other resources are available to enhance your efforts and reflect the Collegiate DECA brand. Submit your own successful recruitment strategies to be shared with other chapters to askcollegiatedeca@deca.org.
