Membership

Membership in DECA begins and ends with a focus on students. This, however, is not the only way to gain membership into the premiere student marketing association. DECA opens its doors to advisors, business partners and alumni as well. Together, these networks provide a community of resources for past, present and future DECA members.

Each year, DECA aims to expand its community through the national Membership Campaign. This activity is designed to strengthen your chapter from the inside out by building membership among students and business professionals. This 2007-2008 Membership Campaign focuses on how to Xperience the Difference with DECA.

Students
Membership in DECA begins and ends with student involvement. It is a co-curricular activity that is often integrated into marketing education classes. Whether involving yourself on a chapter or national level, we offer each member the same resources, opportunities, and realistic preparation.

Advisors
The role of the advisor varies from chapter to chapter, but it is a cornerstone for every successful program. Advisor membership connects career-technical education teachers to a vast amount of resources not just for DECA, but also for marketing education and classroom planning.

Advisors receive monthly newsletters, special training workshops and promotional materials updated annually. Most importantly, they belong to local, state and national networks full of experienced DECA advisors and marketing education teachers that are ready to share and collaborate.

Business Partners
Businesses can involve themselves with DECA membership in a number of ways. The DECA National Advisory Board members consist of businesses as diverse as our student members. They often serve as resources for competitive events, event sponsorships and community development through local chapters.

Another opportunity to involve your business is by joining our Sales and Marketing Companies. These businesses are approved by DECA to assist chapters with marketing and fundraising.

Alumni
Anyone who has ever held membership in any division of DECA Inc. can join the Alumni Association. As a member you have the opportunity to help your community and DECA on the local, state, and national level. Your commitment helps ensure the continued success of our organization.

The main purpose for the Alumni Association is to provide guidance and support to DECA and provide an avenue for continued personal and professional growth for the alumni.
