DECA offers a wide range of services and activities
for its professional and student members. The services
and activities are organized around the areas of conferences,
publications, competitive events, leadership and classroom
and chapter resources.
Competitive Events

 |
DECA's competitive events structure propels winners
from local to state levels and finally to the international
level. The success, confidence, recognition and awards
that students earn in this program are crucial to their
success in marketing
careers. Each year over 110,000 DECA or Delta Epsilon
Chi members compete at the local, state and national
levels, in their chosen occupational field, for recognition
of their skills and competence. Approximately 10,000
state members qualify to compete at DECA's International
Career Development Conferences. Winners at the international
level are awarded trophies and cash or stock in the
company that sponsors the competitive event. For more
information on the competitive events programs click

Leadership
Each DECA member has opportunities for leadership at
the local level through such activities as committee
work, officer elections, exercises in parliamentary
procedure and public speaking opportunities. In addition,
DECA offers a variety of experiences beyond the local
chapter level. For more information click here

Community Service
DECA recognizes the importance of encouraging this connection
with civic life and has developed key programs designed
specifically to address the need for this kind of learning.
These programs are action–oriented, designed to involve
every student member and engage them as leaders in strengthening
their communities. DECA programs, the Community Service
Project, the Public Relations Project and the Learn
and Earn Project, among others, provide the resources,
training, support and recognition that this aspect of
professional and personal development require. For More
information click here.
Publications
The student magazine, Dimensions, is published
four times each year, with a readership of over 200,000.
The DECA Advisor and chapter packet are for teachers,
mailed monthly. The Advisor is a newsletter for teachers
that keeps them up to date on DECA news and teaching
tips. Each year chapter advisors receive a DECA Guide
that has competitive event guidelines and chapter organization
information. The conference program is an annual publication
for the international conference detailing the agenda
and guide to activities. For more information on DECA
publications click here. For

The
DECA Planning Calendar is published each summer
and is distributed to advisors with their membership
materials in August.
The planning calendar is more than you
might expect. Not only does it offer advisors a place
to organize their daily activities, it also contains
information on important dates throughout the DECA year.
Even more important, the planning calendar is a resource
for DECA advisors. Each month features articles, interviews
and links to the DECA Web site and Chapter Management
System—all designed to assist the advisor with the
important events that occur during that part of the
year
Conferences
DECA’s conferences offer a variety of activities
for teachers and students in career preparation, leadership
development, team building, competitive events and chapter
management. There are regional conferences in the fall,
career conferences organized around hospitality, finance
and entrepreneurship in December/January, a sports and
entertainment marketing conference in February, state
conferences in February/March/April and the international
conferences in April. For more information on conferences
