Welcome to DECA & Delta Epsilon Chi's

International Career Development Conference

Judge Information

Welcome judges to the DECA and Delta Epsilon Chi International Career Development Conferences. We are delighted that you are participating as a judge in our internationally recognized Competitive Events Program.

This information is designed to assist you in understanding the competitive events, their purpose and relationship to the classroom, the conferences where the competitive events will take place and DECA and Delta Epsilon Chi's mission and purpose.

The links to the right provide detailed information on each aspect of the competitive events and DECA/Delta Epsilon Chi. We recommend you review the information in order of the links at the right. Before you move on, there are several key points to keep in mind.

There are two International Career Development Conferences: one for college students (Delta Epsilon Chi) held at the Hilton Anaheim Hotel, in Anaheim, CA, April 22–25, 2009. Judging will occur on Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25.

The second International Career Development Conference is for high school students (DECA). It will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA, April 29–May 2, 2009. Judging will occur on Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2.

Judges sign up for a half– or full–day commitment for a specific competitive event. Check your preferred date and time on your confirmation letter.

Students are counting on you. The high school and college students participating in these conferences have worked hard all year for this experience.

It's rewarding to judge. In fact, many of our judges ask to judge multiple days because it is such a positive experience. We are certain that you will be impressed with the quality of our students, but judging is not complicated. You will be evaluating the skills you use every day in your business or industry. You will be thoroughly briefed by the teachers running the event before you start and throughout the day.

Community service – Many companies encourage employees to participate in community service, and DECA is a 501(c)(3) not–for–profit organization. All judges receive a follow–up letter shortly after the conference, thanking them for volunteering as a judge.

Thank you for your interest!
