Grand Opening Session at ICDC
Participants in DECA's 2007 International Career Development Conference are in for an entertainment extravaganza during the Grand Opening Session on Saturday, April 28.
Cirque du Soleil brings its magic to the DECA stage. This phenomenal show that sells out all
over the world will delight DECA members with acrobatic feats representative of the best that
the ensemble has to offer. First, artist Aerial Lira, erupts like a bright star from an
explosion of light and manipulates her body around a circular apparatus that has her contorting
in unimaginable ways. Next, Flight of Fire features a spellbinding artisan who soars over
the audience attached only to the edge of rippling fabrics, creating a dreamscape adventure.
 But the entertainment does not end there. The DECA audience will be treated to a star of
tomorrow with Destiny Row Records performer, Kelsey Fowler. At 16, Kelsey is able to express
in song the emotions of youth. Her music speaks to audiences that are at the same point in
their lives, as well as those who remember what those years were like. "Something's Starting
To Happen" is Kelsey's first single and music video from her first album. It's also her promise
to the world. As one critic puts it, "This is the sound of a woman being born." Get a preview

VOLUNTEER TO JUDGE!
DECA/Delta Epsilon Chi is looking for adult volunteers to judge marketing related competitive events at the International Career Development Conference in Orlando this April.
Half day and full day shifts are available. Choose from a variety of events, including finance, hospitality, retail, sports and entertainment and entrepreneurship.
DECA provides on site judge training on the day of the events, free parking, breakfast, lunch and refreshments.

Receive $2,000 to Implement a Communication Campaign
DECA Inc. is happy to announce its partnership with the National Youth Leadership Council (NYLC). Local DECA
chapters can now participate in a competitive process to receive $2,000 to design and implement a communication
campaign for Project Ignition, a service learning project, sponsored by State Farm Companies Foundation. You will
also vie for the $10,000 grant awarded to the winner named “Best of the Best”. For more information about Project

Leeza Gibbons, TV talk and entertainment show host, radio personality, producer, businesswoman
and former DECA member, is one of the contestants on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" beginning at

Advisor Academy
The New Advisor Academy for the Orlando ICDC has been revamped. It will feature short presentations and roundtable discussions by experienced advisors on topics of interest to beginning advisors (one to three years of experience).

Building Wealth Scholarship Application
Great news! Thanks to our grant with the New York Stock Exchange,
DECA is able to extend the Building Wealth Scholarship Application
February 16th deadline for advisors wishing to participate in the
Building Wealth training. DECA advisors interested in participating
in the training must complete the scholarship application process
posted here. Space is limited
for each session, so advisors should apply soon!
Youth Business Development (YBD) Competition
On behalf of the students of the University of Oxford, Saïd Business School,
we would like to invite you to participate in the second international
Youth Business
Development (YBD) Competition. Please note that the first round deadline
