The other day I was reflecting back on ICDC, how hectic it was running for national office and I thought about how, once you accomplish a goal, you might not see a need to do better because you have already achieved your objective. I made a vow to myself that even though I have reached my goal of becoming a national officer I would not let that hinder making this year for the North Atlantic Region bigger and better.

Many of you may have achieved your goals in academics, sports, or DECA this past school year, but I challenge you to use these next three months to make the most out of your achievements. As DECA members you should be aspiring higher. As national officers, my team and I set goals for ourselves each month that we hope to accomplish. As members I encourage you to do the same. It is surprising what you have the ability to achieve if you put your mind to it.

To all the state, provincial, regional, and chapter officers: remember that there are DECA members that look up to you. At one time you were in their shoes and now you have been given an amazing opportunity to work with DECA in a different way. Use it to your full advantage to make our organization beneficial to everyone. Most importantly, cherish every moment you have as an officer because the year is fun, but also very fast!
