Kendra's June Blog

2011-06-08
For me, the month of May was bittersweet. As I walked across the stage to receive my diploma during graduation it hit me: I would never be a high school student again. I would never walk the crowded hallways, never listen to the school bell ring, never wake up before 6 AM to go to class, and never wear certain clothes to abide by dress code. It was strange to think about all of the things I would miss; yet, I knew the one thing I would miss the most was my DECA classroom. My DECA classroom has become my home away from home and my DECA chapter members have become my second family. What am I going to do without my family? What am I going to do without the comfort of my closest supporters?

I am sure many of you seniors felt the same way, but realize, the best part about DECA is that it was designed to stay with you forever. Whether you were an active DECA member or just someone who enjoyed the classroom aspect, the lessons and experiences you gained will be with you wherever life takes you. You may be leaving the classroom, but you are not leaving the family and memories you have acquired because diamonds are forever. Your family will remain as long as you remain an active DECA supporter.

Truly,
