DECA Members,
This past month I have been thinking of how I can personally meet the DECA theme of “Aspire Higher” this next year, and I wanted to share some ideas with all of you! To me, aspiring higher is a way of life. It is a mind set that we all need to have to achieve our goals.
This past month I graduated from my high school and saw hundreds of other students walk across a stage to get their diplomas. They reached this goal because they pushed themselves towards success. The hard work and dedication it takes to succeed is all a part of aspiring higher. You must push yourself, look toward the future, and never fear failure if you want to reach your goals. Congratulations to all DECA members who walked across the stage, like my fellow National Officers and I did this year! We have aspired higher! Now it is time to take it to the next level.
In high school we all face challenges with schoolwork, friends, and after school activities, but if we keep aspiring higher, we are more likely to face those challenges with ease. This next year I want to face each obstacle head on and see it as an opportunity for growth. I plan to maintain a positive attitude while looking towards my future. I want to set high goals for myself and give everything my very best. DECA this year is “aspiring higher,” but just like I have people who have helped me throughout the years, DECA needs your help too. Set goals for yourself and your involvement in DECA. Exceed other's expectations. Challenge yourself and others to reach outside the comfort zone and meet new people. Make new friends! Expand your network! If we all aspire higher, we will succeed beyond even our own expectations.
So set yourself up for success this year... ASPIRE HIGHER!
