If I had one last opportunity to tell someone about DECA, this would be it: Before DECA I had no direction or a sense of value to life. I can remember walking through the hollowed halls of Washington High School and smelling this aroma of chocolate chip cookies. I found out quickly that DECA was the chapter responsible for making them. That next week I joined DECA...and the cookies became insignificant. Leadership became my priority. By my junior year in High School, I was elected State Vice President of my State (Florida). DECA taught me to overcome adversity and trials of life. During my whole DECA term, my family and I were homeless and bankrupt. DECA gave me hope of a better tomorrow. At the end of my term as State Vice President I felt as if I owed DECA so much. I decided to run for National Office and won. It is evident that DECA goes beyond a student organization. DECA is like a leadership factory that produces leaders for the business world. Who wouldn't want to be a part of that?
Sincerely,
