Hi Everybody,
I hope everyone has had a fantastic month of February, I know mine has been incredible!...and busy! I have had an unbelievable time this year and it just keeps getting better! It has been hard to find time to do much of anything lately, but “fortunately” I have been delayed in Norfolk, VA for most of the day and finally had an opportunity to write everyone.
One of the most interesting things that happened this month was my chat with Ms. Sarah O’Brien, from MyEdu. She encouraged me to try out MyEdu for myself in my college search and it proved very useful, it even showed me where I can find the cheapest textbooks! MyEdu is a great tool for anyone beginning their college search, AND they are giving out DECA Scholarships! The best part about their scholarships is that we, DECA members, dictate how much scholarship they give! The more members that sign up at http://DECA.MyEdu.com the more money we get! Even if you sign up to just look around the site and see what is has to offer, it contributes to the scholarship fund.
Next stop in my travels this past month was in Pennsylvania with Nate Keeney! We had a great time with all of the officers and State Advisors, Mr. Mariotz and Mr. DiGiovanni. We all got to host the 2011 State Career Development Conference, in Hershey, PA, “The Sweetest Place on Earth!” And let me tell you this place was SWEET! The conference went amazingly well and was a great introduction for me to PA DECA.
After PA, I was home for a week and worked everyday! Then I turned around and left for Virginia’s State Conference… which was great! I had a great time helping out all around the conference and working with the state officers. They all did a great job!
I think that is all I have for now, I’m currently off to Indiana for their State conference, Have a good one!
Be sure to follow DECA on facebook and www.facebook.com/decainc!
