Nate's February Blog
2011-02-10
January was another busy month for sure. Returning from Christmas break led to a lot of weeks of school. But within those few weeks, there were so many snow days! Yes, even in college we have snow days. Within a matter of 2 weeks, Providence and most of the east coast was layered with 3+ feet of snow, ice and slush. It has been fun adapting to the negative degree weather, the intense winds off the harbor in Rhode Island and experiencing so much snow.
I did get to escape the arctic north and enjoy some fun in the sun in Orlando, Florida. Team 65 met in Orlando to have our midyear meeting for the International Career Development Conference in April. During the conference, we got to work on pretty much everything for preparing for the ICDC. It was great being together as a team again. The last time we were all together was in July at training! We also had fun exploring Downtown Disney.
From there, we all departed and I returned to Rhode Island. I continued to be at school and work towards the end of my 2nd trimester in February. At the end of January though, I had the opportunity to compete in my first Collegiate DECA competition for Rhode Island Collegiate DECA. It was so fun being back in the competitive mode and competing for a spot to go to the Collegiate DECA ICDC in April as well. Hopefully, I did well enough to qualify.
I get to travel to a few state career development conferences in the next few months. I can’t wait for the traveling and DECA season to begin. As always, feel free to contact me for anything you need help or would like to share. I love hearing from you guys.
Stay safe, have fun and be well.
