Brennan's October Blog

2010-10-07

This year has flown by and I can’t believe it is already October. This time of year means a few things to me: baseball is ending, football is starting, and DECA Conferences & Competitions are beginning to take place. This is my favorite part of the DECA Season because it is full of different events and keeps me busy to make the end of the year fly by.

One very important event that takes place during the fall is DECA Week. This event takes place from October 10th through the 16th. Thousands of DECA chapters will celebrate DECA Week by promoting the organization in their schools and communities. These seven days will be jam-packed with all different activities such as community service, member recruitment, and team building. These are several possibilities that can be applied during DECA week that I have experienced that have had a positive outcome for my chapter and me.

• Benefit Dinner
• 5k/10k Run & Walk

Again, these are all activities that I have personally experienced during DECA Week. They are great tools for bringing a chapter closer together as well as making it bigger. Let me know if I can be of assistance by explaining these activities or giving you more ideas.
