Aramis' September Blog

Socrates' guiding rule was, "Know Thyself." These words are of eternal significance. No better advice has ever been give to man or woman. When one begins to explore this dictate, it leads to profound understandings about all of creation. It makes unhappiness, fear, sadness, doubt, and all the negative emotions meaningless.

In order to be sound and successful leaders you must know who you are. You shouldn't have to put an APB out on yourself. Be aware of all your flaws and shortcomings. You know yourself better than anyone. There is some evidence to suggest that we certainly can become "enlightened" through introspection and self-analysis. We can learn a good deal about ourselves by reading and thinking about our own behavior in a systematic fashion. While looking at ourselves with a critical eye may sometimes be uncomfortable, the rewards for doing so certainly are worth it. Individuals who seek feedback from others and learn from their mistakes are more likely to be considered high-potential leaders. In closing, KNOW THYSELF and you will go beyond the impossible!

Warm Regards,

Aramis, SRVP
