Brennan's September blog
2010-09-17
School is finally back in session and the DECA season is underway. Since I work at the mall, I have seen a drastic change in the traffic because everyone is back in school. My friends have also left for college and it is very different not having them around anymore. My daily routine pretty much stays the same with work, the gym, and going home late every night. However, I just went up to Boulder at the University of Colorado, to visit several of my friends. I stayed up there for a day and had the chance to experience the college way of life. It really got me excited to go to school this next fall, even though I have no idea where yet. Hopefully, I will figure it out very soon.
One of my biggest goals for the year was to improve the communication from National DECA to its members. One way for this to be possible is through the monthly newsletter. You should be expecting a copy of the Western Region Newsletter from your local state officer, this was sent to them on September 5th. This has all the important dates to remember, articles from other state officers, and a recap of previous conferences. This newsletter also has the information about our Western Region Skype Conference Calls. If you want to catch up on all the exciting news and events that National DECA has to offer, make sure to attend the monthly conference calls. You can also give your input on anything that you would like to see from National DECA.
Next, there is information about the Western Region Member/Advisor of the Month Program. We will be recognizing up to four different members and advisors each month in the newsletter for their outstanding work. Aside from being in the regional newsletter, they will also receive a certificate in the mail. If you have any questions on any of these programs or you would like to be added to the email list to receive a newsletter, let me know.
Remember that if you guys ever need anything, email me at decabrennan@gmail.com or add me on FaceBook (Search Brennan Boehne). Thanks again and I will see you soon!
