This has truly been a whirlwind summer thus far! When I arrived in Reston, Virginia at the end of May to begin my internship at DECA Inc., I couldn’t have imagined what the next few weeks had in store. With our national officer training, website launch, and the early implementation of our program of work these past two months have flown by! I look forward to continuing this amazing experience that allows me to focus heavily on providing you, the student members and advisors, with the pertinent information and resources to assure another positive year in Collegiate DECA. One note that I would love to announce is the growth that this division experienced last year. As you know, the national officer team worked diligently to create new programs and benefits for our members and that has shown by an increase of 15 percent in membership from the previous year! Great job Team 49!

In the coming weeks I will be preparing for the State Association Management Conference, expanding the promotions for our Collegiate Leadership Academy, and our August membership mailing! We have created some new advertising material that I can’t wait for you to see! I look forward to hearing from our membership on new ideas and thoughts that you have to continue the growth of not only our numbers, but our opportunities and benefits for you!
