The past four weeks have been very exciting, entertaining, and emotional – filled with final exams, graduation parties, and family/friends. It is sad to think that my high school career is now over. The place where I spent the majority of my time these past four years is now a memory. My actual graduation went very well though; it was held at Red Rocks. (A quick side note: if you ever come to Colorado, you have to go to Red Rocks! Possibly the coolest place ever and a great concert venue.) We also were lucky enough to have Isaac Slade, the lead singer of the Fray, as our keynote speaker.
After graduation, the next three days were non-stop grad parties. It was a very tiring 72 hours, but the memories made up for it. Just a note for the Class of 2011: Be ready to gain like 10 pounds from all the food you will eat during Grad Week. I never thought I would say this, but I am so tired of Qdoba, Panda Express, and BBQ after all of those parties. Anyway, I hope all the Class of 2010 had an amazing graduation and I wish you the best of luck with your futures. Congratulations to the Class of 2011, because you now can call yourself seniors.
Aside from graduation, I had an amazing weekend with some DECA friends. Kurtis (National President), Chevy (Former Nebraska State Officer), and Zach (Former Washington State Officer) all came to Colorado to visit. The first night we all went to Rock Bottom on the 16th Street Mall in Downtown Denver. My friends Tyler and Aaron also joined us, plus two former National President's, Ryan Dyck and Kelly VanWoerkom. Then on Sunday before everyone went to the airport, we all went to Casa Bonita. This is a Mexican Restaurant located in Denver that is highly recognized across the state for the atmosphere. We saw cliff divers that would do flips into a pool 30 feet below, people dressed up in crazy costumes like gorilla suits, and a very entertaining arcade. Josh (Former Washington State Officer) also joined us at Casa Bonita. This was a perfect weekend filled with tons of previous/current DECA members.
