What can DECA do for you?

Many DECA members are always being asked, “What does DECA mean?” or “What does DECA stand for?”

I ask you, “What does DECA mean to YOU?”

Beyond the official mission statement and our guiding principles, how does DECA apply to you as an individual? I have asked myself this question many times, to the point where my answer has developed into an internal mission statement. It’s a way for me to not only explain DECA, but also to show why it is so important to me. It gives me a chance to tell my story. When you combine a personal mission statement with the official DECA mission statement and our guiding principles, you can convey a very powerful message to any audience. This is a great skill to have when interacting with government and school officials on behalf of DECA!
