Collegiate DECA officers prepare for upcoming year

2010-06-29

Your Collegiate DECA officers are ready to share their plan for 2010-11 with you. After compiling thoughts and ideas on how to strengthen the Collegiate DECA division, your national officers developed a program of work focusing on six main areas: branding, membership, programs, communication, ICDC, and CLA. With the name change becoming official at the end of ICDC in Louisville, Kentucky we knew we had the perfect opportunity to revamp this division. Our new name allows us to become more identifiable to high school DECA alumni, our new logo makes us more contemporary, and this year's theme, "Expand Your Network," well that inspires us to reach out and meet new people at every opportunity.

I am excited for what is to come this year as we look to build off the great programs that were established last year. The virtual membership program allows the benefits of Collegiate DECA to become available to college and university students who do not currently have a chapter on their campus. The LOOP is an email newsletter that allows us to relay pertinent information straight to your email, of course this information is also available on our newly revised website, www.deca.org. We have tried to incorporate some new technology within our website to better serve our student members and advisors. Be sure to surf our page and don't forget to look through our corporate partners' pages for fundraising ideas, internship, and scholarship opportunities.
