Get Ready for DECA Week!

Guess what? It’s October and you know what that means: National DECA week is here! For those freshmen that have never experienced DECA week, you are in for the time of your life! DECA dorks from all of the country show their DECA spirit throughout this week with fun activities, dress up days, community service boosters and promotional materials. The goal of this week is to get the DECA word out! Make sure your school, district and state knows what DECA is and why you are a part of such an amazing organization.

Since we are Aspiring Higher this year, I want to point out a new activity National DECA has created for DECA week: the promotional campaign! If your chapter is looking to encourage your community to join DECA, make sure to use the promotional campaign as your guide. By holding two school outreach activities such as putting DECA diamonds on lockers, writing two DECA alumni success stories, and organizing two community involved activities such as providing recognition for business partners, your chapter will have reached the pinnacle level of National DECA’s campaign. This campaign is an awesome way to get your community involved with DECA. DECA week is supposed to be fun and eventful, so go out there and make it count! I challenge you to make this year’s DECA week the best your chapter has ever seen by using the promotional campaign. Show your DECA spirit and your DECA love, I promise you will not be alone!
